YOIYOI’s Entry at the 2025 Australian Sake Awards
This year, YOIYOI proudly participated in the Australian Sake Awards 2025, an esteemed competition recognizing sake craftsmanship in Australia. This event plays a crucial role in celebrating the artistry and traditions of sake brewing, and we were honored to submit three carefully crafted varieties: Sohomare Kamon, Seppikosan Aiyama 1801, and Prince Nagaya.
What Are the Australian Sake Awards?
The Australian Sake Awards is an international competition evaluating sake available or soon to be available in Australia. The judging panel consists of industry professionals, including sommeliers, beverage distributors, importers, and sake specialists.
The evaluation process follows blind tasting guidelines, ensuring sake is judged solely on its aroma, flavor, and balance without brand influence. Judges undergo specialized sake training to refine their expertise and ensure fair assessments.
YOIYOI’s Submitted Sake Varieties
- Sohomare Kamon – A traditional sake crafted from Yamada Nishiki rice, featuring a gentle ginjo aroma and rich umami. Perfect for pairing with grilled fish or simmered dishes.

- Prince Nagaya – A bold, fruity sake with deep complexity, expertly paired with cheese, smoked foods, and grilled meats.
