Tojo Akitsu Kiln is located in the Akitsu district of Kato City, Hyogo—an area renowned for producing the highest‑grade Yamada Nishiki, often called the “king of sake rice”.
This unique sakeware is made by blending clay from the rice fields where Yamada Nishiki is grown with straw ash from the same rice plants, creating a vessel that embodies the land, climate, and craftsmanship of the region.
