Yamadanishiki Rice-Shaped Plate
– Crafted from Rice Field Clay and Straw Ash Glaze
This gentle, oval-shaped plate is inspired by a single grain of rice—the heart of Japanese sake.
Handcrafted in Tojo Akitsu, Hyogo, it’s made using clay from the fields where Yamadanishiki rice is grown, and glazed with ash from its straw, creating a vessel that carries the spirit of the land.
The soft white glaze has a silky, organic texture, with natural speckles and variations that reflect the warmth of handwork.
Its shape cradles food beautifully, making it ideal for small dishes, sweets, fruits, or appetizers.
Each piece is entirely handmade, and no two are alike.
You’ll receive a one-of-a-kind plate, with its own unique glaze pattern, form, and character.
